The Second Falling of McCain

John McCain’s campaign spending is breaking the law. He elected for public funding when his campaign was having trouble. But now that he is the presumptive nominee, he is, by his campaign’s own admission, around $4 million over his legal spending limit. So a formal complaint has been filed with the FEC.

Ron Paul: On Money, Inflation and Government

The explanation lies in understanding the basics of money, and why it is texas straight talkdangerous to give government and big banks control over it.
First, money is not wealth, in and of itself. You cannot create more wealth simply by creating more money. Wall Street bankers cry out for more liquidity, but what is really needed is more value behind the dollar. But the value, unfortunately, isn't there.
The end game for this policy of monetary inflation is that the money in your bank account loses purchasing power. So, by keeping failing banks afloat, the Fed punishes those who have lived frugally and saved. The power to create money is a power that should never be granted to government. As we can plainly see today, the Fed has abused this power, and taxpayers are paying the price.

Alaska Converts McCain Delegates to Ron Paul

Here in Alaska we grew a group of delegates after our primaries into the nolanAlaska Ron Paul Delegates meetup. In that group we pulled together about 70 of our 110 or so Ron Paul delegates in order to work and communicate together for the seven weeks before the state convention. We did one project that I think bears replication, both for states with pending State Conventions, but also, and most importantly, on a national level, before the St. Paul Convention. First, we realized that mainstream media had been almost completely ignoring Dr. Paul.

Ron Paul: The Inflation Tax

Today, the federal government burdens us with one of the most dangerous taxes it can impose — the inflation tax. When the federal government finds that it cannot afford its out-of-control spending, and is unwilling to directly tax the public, it resorts simply to creating the money out of thin air.

GeeOP Hears a Paul… WE ARE HERE!

There is another scientific law that complements the Ron Paul "Exclusion nolanPrinciple. It is called the John McCain "Uncertainty Principle". There are a lot of delegates in the GOP that are "uncertain" about the electability of John McCain (not to mention his conservative "principles"). According to the mainstream media John McCain is the pre-ordained candidate for the GOP. That aside, there are no guarantees that John McCain can and will win the GOP nomination (not to mention the presidential election). So, when John shows up in St. Paul in September don't be surprised to hear more than just a few enthusiastic Ron Paul supporters shouting "WE ARE HERE! WE ARE HERE!"

Most of all, thank you to Dr. Paul for the message of peace, prosperity and freedom that our founders would applaud.

If Senator McCain is in violation of FEC laws, I would urge the Republican nolanParty to express to Senator McCain that Republicans will not stand for such actions unbecoming of the Republican Party, and eject Senator McCain from the Party. Proud of my fellows here in Texas

We took a group full of people who thought it would be business as usual, and turned the whole thing on its head. Those people didn't expect to hear dissent from the decisions of the committee. When they heard our dissent, half of the room REALLY listened. We garnered enough support to formally oppose the Real ID and enough votes to nearly formally call for a repeal of the Federal Reserve Act and go back to the gold standard. Through our speeches we nearly convinced half a room of die-hard republicans to go back to the gold standard! The people there were impressed with our knowledge, and our ability to use the rules to our advantage! Best of all, I know who to work on. Many people I am close to actually truly listened to us today.

Epic event at the Texas Williamson county convention

First I can tell you for certain that there were well over 200 Ron Paul supporters there. I don't know how many of us applied to be delegates at State Convention, but I can tell you I know one of the people on the nominations committee because both our daughters go to the same school. He told us that out of the 250 something people who applied to go only 5 were denied.
The vote happened and the entire package passed. All the good stuff was in the package like abolish the FED, DOE, DED, 1955, patriot act, TTC, right to life, 2nd amend etc etc. I was amazed.
The best part is we got tons of delegates elected to State. It is possible we got 150 or more.

McCain 'breaks official spending cap' - Delegates Must VOID McCain Wins

Republican candidate John McCain Republican presumptive nominee John McCain has ignored official campaign expenditure limits and has overspent millions in the primary.

McCain has 2 problems with this issue.

1: If the FEC allows Mccain to withdraw from FED matching funds he will be revoked from many delegates in states that he was able to be on the ballot without the required number of signatures therefore he will lose any delegates for him in those states.
2: If the FEC doesn't release him from matching funds he will be capped at 50 million dollars and will kill his run for president because he will not have the money to compete.

The problem is even more complicated than this. McCain used the matching funds eligibility to avoid having to collect signatures to qualify for ballot access in several states, including Ohio, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

However, even if the level of our troops being killed has declined, they are still being targeted and the Iraqi government is no closer to stability, meaning that the violence will continue.”
Bottom line? U.S. presence in Iraq = violence. This week, we learned of the death of the 4,000th U.S. solider over there, and as gut-wrenching as that number is, it doesn’t even come close to the number of our soldiers that have been wounded or the number of the Iraqis that have been killed or wounded as a result of this war.

But I also oppose Obama, because he favours strict gun control, which is both unconstitutional and a threat to civil liberty.

Why Ron Paul Still Scares The GOP

Neither Obama nor Clinton has any plan to tackle this debt or to restrain andrewsullivanentitlement spending in any serious way. The dollar is headed into the toilet as much of the US economy is leveraged on the bona fides of a still-authoritarian regime that is currently brutally suppressing human rights in Tibet and across its territory.
For all his quirks, and for all his unseemly past associations, Ron Paul had some serious view about the gravity of the situation and a philosophy that was once called conservative and is now smeared as nuts. History will be far kinder to him than today's chattering classes.

Why Ron Paul Scares the GOP

[Note that this article from Time (a Neocon publication) is at times timesophomoric and uses derogatory vernacular against Paul almost as if the author was trying to satisfy his job requirement of putting Ron Paul down.]
ron_paulThe GOP candidates all claimed to defend taxpayers, but Paul was the only one who refused to accept a taxpayer-funded pension or taxpayer-funded junkets. The candidates all talked about shrinking big government, but Paul was the only one who included the Pentagon and NSA wiretaps and petroleum subsidies in his definition. Bush's approval ratings have been abysmal for years, but Paul was the only Republican who really campaigned for change.
And in doing so Paul illustrated what was so striking about the Republican race. The leading candidates had all strayed from Bush and current orthodoxy in the past — Rudy Giuliani on abortion and gay rights, John McCain on tax cuts, torture, health care and campaign finance, Mitt Romney on just about everything. But while Paul was getting attacked every time he called for a new direction, the rest spent the primaries minimizing and renouncing their previous departures, implicitly promising four more years of Bushism.

If Thomas Jefferson were running for the US presidency and spoke the words he uttered two centuries ago, he would be marginalized by today’s press just as Ron Paul has been marginalized in his campaign for the US presidency.
Today, private bankers control not only the issuance of money in America, but the corporations [that will grow up around the bankers] control what Americans see, read, and hear because of their influence in the media. The clear and present dangers Jefferson warned about two centuries ago are now clearly present.
The banker’s credit money system is now everywhere as are their resultant unsustainable debts; and those who profit by that system, the bankers [and the corporations that grew up around them] now control the media, the political process, and the agencies charged with overseeing and regulating the economy—the US Federal Reserve Bank, the SEC, the US Treasury, and indeed the US government itself: the Presidency, the Congress, and the Supreme Court.

Ron Paul Are We Wrong?

When times are tough, whether through natural disaster, economic molancycles, or other burdens, it has become a common cry that the "government" needs to do something. Those controlling the government are always willing to do more as their personal power and authority gain and the strength of the States and people weakened. The majority of the people seem to have conformed to the idea more federal government holds the answers to our daily strife. Forgotten is the idea the people are the government, it appears only as empty rhetoric in the campaign stump speeches of politicians. Gone too is the knowledge of our historical requirements for an active and involved citizenry in order to control tyranny of the few over the many.

Everyone loves a good Davy Crockett story, and this one will not only entertain, it will educate, and maybe even change some minds.

Lulling Americans Into False Sense of Security

Rep. Ron Paul weighed in on HR 3773 by saying, “This bill will allow the scoopfederal government to engage in the bulk collection of American citizens’ communications. In effect, it means that any American may have his electronic communications monitored without a search warrant. As such, the bill clearly violates the Fourth Amendment.” Rep. Paul went on to point out that of the 50,000 National Security Letters issued around 30,000 were issued, NOT for suspected terrorists, but for Americans. He later added, “When we come to accept that the government can spy on us without a court order, we have come to accept tyranny.”

Ron Paul’s Constituents Vote for Him, but Not for President. Why?

A more credible explanation as to why Ron Paul did not do better in the thenewamericanpresidential race — whether in Texas or elsewhere — may be found in the fact that the mainstream media marginalized him as a fringe candidate who did not have a chance of winning. That perception undoubtedly caused many who liked Ron Paul — including many of his own constituents — to vote for their second choice for president.

Yeah, sort of. I never thought it was about to happen, actually. I've always assumed it was not likely. But I think from the [Republican Party's] viewpoint, it couldn't hurt them. It would be wise on their part to give me a little time at the convention--what would it hurt to let me talk about monetary policy? I would be polite, and that is an important issue, especially given that the dollar is on the ropes.

Ron Paul Statement After 10 Years of War with Iraq

“After five years of occupation, today is a good time for reflection. The yahoo newscost to America has been great: 4,000 soldiers are dead, 30,000 have been severely wounded, and over 100,000 have applied for disability. In addition, the war has put a tremendous strain on our economy. As we spiral toward recession and experience an assault on our dollar, we spend $12 billion per month financing our Iraqi operations. The war has cost us nearly $1 trillion dollars, or over $3,300 per American man, woman, and child.
“In a recent presidential debate, I was asked whether the war was ‘worth it.’ I said, and still say, ‘absolutely not.’ In addition to the tremendous costs to America, the war has been helpful to our enemies. The war has strengthened Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda, and Iran. And yet the other presidential candidates want to keep troops there for at least five more years. One even says we should keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years.

In the end, he wants to be able to say that he and his supporters "revitalized interest in the concept of personal liberty. It is the instrument that made America the greatest country ever — and we're about to lose it."

Comprehensive Economic Revitalization Plan

prescription-for-prosperitytaxesAmerica became the greatest, most prosperous nation in human history through low taxes, constitutionally limited government, personal freedom and a belief in sound money. We need to return to these principles so our economy can thrive again. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity. Other candidates talk a lot about stimulus packages, but my record stands alone. I have fought for these measures for years as a member of Congress and will make them a top priority as president.

The Four-Point Plan

  1. Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.
  2. Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.
  3. Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness at the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.
  4. Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.
